Those exhibiting nutriton projects should bring:

1. Plan of food for one day in menu form, including snacks if usually eaten.
2. One prepared food item from one of planned menus (family size, not individual) in serving dish.
3. One place setting for service of meal.
4. Appropriate tablecloth/mat; centerpiece is optional.
5. Members are expected to know the food groups and number of servings required daily.
6. Members in intermediate and advanced projects are expected to know the nutrients and what
    they provide the body.

Darke County 4-H is a family affair.  Everyone becomes involved in the learning, the business and the fun.

  • Learning to Learn- learning through experience leading

  • Planning and Organizing - setting short and long-term goals
4-H'ers learn through experience in various ways:
  • Community Involvement - volunteer time to help community needs
  • Life Skill Projects - develop self-esteem and lifetime interests
  • State & National 4-H Trips - educational and develops leadership skills
  • State 4-H Workshops - develop skills to plan and lead groups
  • School Enrichment Programs - helps teachers develop the "whole child," not just teach subject matter.
  • Cloverbuds allows Kindergarten through Second Grade children to become involved with 4-H on a noncompetitive basis

  • Our 46 4-H clubs are spread throughout the county and we can help you find one in your area!
