May’s Character Trait: Wisdom
Wisdom is defined as being able to make practical applications
of truth in daily decisions.
A wise person considers the consequences of their actions and chooses the
path which will result in the accomplishment of their goals. They
realize that there are both negative and positive consequences for every
action and are willing to suffer those consequences.
Our youth can develop wisdom by listening to parents and coaches, learning
from corrective actions, choosing their friends carefully and asking “What
is the right thing to do?”
For centuries, the great horned owl has been regarded as a symbol of wisdom.
One reason is because the owl has two large, round eyes; sharp hearing and
one very small mouth.
Think about it.
