Buckeye Animal Sciences Experience

The Department of Animal Sciences at The Ohio State University invites high school students to explore their interest in animals at its annual Buckeye Animal Sciences Experience (BASE).  This event will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007.

During BASE students will learn what it’s really like to be a Buckeye.  They’ll discover how they

can get involved in student organizations and study abroad.
The registration deadline is April 16, and is limited to the first 100 applicants.

For registration information, contact our office.  Questions may be directed to Dr. Paul Kuber.

Ohio Gourd Society

The Ohio Gourd Society invites all youth to participate in the Ohio Gourd Show, September 29 and 30, at the fairgrounds.

Becoming a part of the Ohio Gourd Show would be a great place for youth to have some fun, be a part of state-wide competition and learn more about gourds.  There are junior and youth classes, and no entry fee is charged.  Ribbons
are awarded in all classes.  Show books will be available after
April 15.

The Gourd Society is willing to help youth get started with a gourd project.  They will offer advice on seed selection, growing tips, insect control, harvesting and more!

Contact Lois Smith, at 937.447.2845, for additional information.
