Dear
Reader,
This is the last issue of the Clover Rover
that you will receive prior to the fair. READ IT!
An annual reminder: The purpose of Jr.
Fair activities is to promote a positive learning environment for our Jr.
Fair exhibitors. Exhibitors, parents and volunteers are expected
to maintain a friendly level of sportsmanship and cooperation throughout
the fair.
Remember, it’s the process, not the project,
that is the most important. The primary objective of Jr. Fair is
to highlight our youth and what they have learned and/or accomplished.
Not everyone can win a trophy or a blue ribbon, but everyone is a winner
for giving it their best. Each and every one of our youth is a blue
ribbon kid!
Fair week is not the time to break or train
an animal. Any animal posing a threat to other animals, exhibitors,
fair-goers, etc. will be dismissed from the fairgrounds.
Also, live animals and small children are
not permitted in revues at the fair, with the exception of the Sew for
Others revue. Children are permitted in this revue, if the garment
was constructed for the child.
Jr. Fair exhibitors are responsible for
their livestock from the time it enters the fairgrounds until the animal(s)
leaves the fairgrounds, or is loaded onto a buyer’s truck. Any exhibitor
not taking proper care of their animals will forfeit all awards, premiums,
etc.
Don’t forget that County Judging is Friday,
July 15, 9:00am - 4:00pm, at the Moose Lodge, 1200 Sweitzer Street, Greenville.
In closing:
“Do not judge others until you have stood
in their place.”
-- Hillel, Jewish scholar and rabbi (c.
60 B.C.-c. 10 A.D.)
See YOU at the fair!
Best Wishes,
Rhonda
