2025 FRIDAY SAMPLER – A Patchwork of Creative Ideas

Inspiration for Artful Living

You are invited to 40th year of The Friday Sampler – Inspiration for Artful Living, on Friday, August 22nd from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Youth Building at The Great Darke County Fair. This is a free event, open to all community members.  The Friday Sampler at the Darke County Fair is sponsored by the 2025 Darke County Agricultural Society and the OSU Extension, Darke County.

Candyce Copp Grisham is a passionate quilter, artist, teacher, and author whose love for fabric began at age nine and was solidified by seeing an ancestor’s quilt at the Smithsonian. Self-taught and inspired by nature, she blends traditional quilting with modern flair, favoring bright, patterned fabrics. With over 30 years of teaching experience, Candyce finds joy in guiding students through creative exploration. Her work has appeared in national and regional juried shows, and she’s published two quilt patterns and the book Dresden Quilt Blocks Reimagined. She lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her husband, Tom, and their rescue dog, Bella, and is the proud mother of two sons.

Caitlin Miller, co-owner of Miller Flowers Greenhouse & Garden Center in Greenville, Ohio, is a passionate horticulturist and educator dedicated to helping gardeners thrive. Specializing in high-quality annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, and seasonal offerings like mums, pumpkins, and handcrafted holiday décor, Miller Flowers is a local favorite. Caitlin leads hands-on workshops and garden seminars year-round, and through a growing online presence, she shares her expertise with a global audience. Join her for an engaging class on fall vegetable planting, essential pruning tips, prepping flowerbeds for the next season, and caring for indoor plants—perfect for gardeners of all levels looking to grow their skills and seasonal success.
