Sam has been the Extension Educator for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Darke County since 2012.  His areas of specialization are farm management including farm bill education, precision agriculture, farm financial management and succession planning and agronomy including applied on farm research, crop & nutrient management and pesticide recertification.   Prior to working for The Ohio State University Extension, Sam taught high school agricultural education and was a school administrator for a total of 32 years.  He earned a BS in Agriculture from Ohio State University in 1981 and a MS in Agriculture Education from The Ohio State University in 1984.  He and his wife reside in rural Versailles.  Sam invites you to contact him with questions regarding any agriculture or natural resources topic.  His email is
